Today’s theme for the Iheartfaces March Photo-a-day inspirational challenge is
I was determined to get a photo of something “straight” with a face in it (I mean, the website is I Heart Faces), but sort of drew a blank as to what that would look like.
My first attempt involved washing Miss H’s hair and then blowdrying it to try to make it nice and light (and straight). I’m no hairstylist, so the pin-straight hair part didn’t work. There are no photos. Time for plan B.
So then I blew up a little balloon and rubbed it all over her hair (or as I told her – I was rubbing magic in her hair….) in an attempt to create static electricity.
My thought was that I’d then have her hair flying straight out from her head, and I’d take a picture of that.
Well – that didn’t work either.
After a few attempts, she wouldn’t sit still and wasn’t particularly interested in a photo shoot.
And the bebe and the dog kept trying to steal the balloon. That was the end of that .
Later, during what should have been her nap time, Miss H was still full of energy, and was flailing around on the couch as she watched a cartoon. I tried to get a photo of her legs straight up in the air –
but of course she was more interested in her cartoon-watching than in the photo I wanted to get 😉
She tumbled on the floor and put a pillow on her head. She said it was her hat for covering her eyes from the bright sun (in our shaded, winter living room).
And then – voila! Straight(-ish) Static-y hair!
(These two above are the ones I added to the photo challenge)
Just for good measure because time is SOOOO fleeting (especially with my tiny people) – I took a few more photos, just to freeze my little girl for a few minutes – because I just cannot resist!
Ciao for now,
-Kate
