Growing up I always envied my friends that were so busy in December. It seemed that their giant families offered all kinds of fun and parties and gifts. They acted like they dreaded all the attention and hub-bub, but I didn’t see why in the world they’d *not* like that sort of busy-ness.
This year, for the first time ever, I’ve had a BUSY December. For my little family of four, December so far has entailed TWO birthday parties for my bebe son’s very first birthday, 3 ear infections, 2 bouts of pink-eye, a trip to Arizona, a family Christmas (in the desert), eight days of Chaunukah, a Chanukah present morning (wherein I gifted my daughter with her first, very own camera!!) -and coming soon we still have family coming to visit (you know, for the traditional Chinese dinner on Christmas day) and then the super-rockin’ New Year’s eve party with our 1 and 2 year olds. All of that and 2 full time jobs and a photography business!
It’s been crazy, but I’m finally understanding the stress and expectation of the busy holiday season that I always envied. And you know what?
It’s pretty great.
