Little one.
You were so excited to go see your Papa at his office today, you chose a special shirt and told me it said “I Love Mama” to show when you saw Daddy. When I told you it said “Daddy Loves Me”, you advised that I was in fact wrong, and it says “I love Mama AND Daddy”. I didn’t argue. We put your special cardigan on to compliment your shirt and talked about how we should style your hair for our visit. You decided, against your normal requests, to wear it down. You bristled and ducked when I pulled out the hairbrush and insisted on doing it yourself with your special pink “Retangler Brush”.
You threw a tantrum when I suggested you should put your tennis shoes on yourself, and I had to remind you that you’re a very capable little girl and you’ve done it yourself a hundred times. You continued your tantrum when I sent you upstairs to your room and when you were done you apologized for screaming and I put your shoes on for you anyway.
You talked me in to bringing my iPad for you to entertain yourself while we were visiting Daddy’s office. That was a first, as I’ve never let you take the iPad out of the house before. When we got to the office you promptly set up shop at a conference table and demanded a caramel cappuccino. You charmed Daddy’s assistant and two of his associates in to helping you play a princess game, then decided you were interested in having your picture taken.
We only got a couple of frames done before you were bored, but the light and your wild hair and your outfit and your posing and your very You-ness are perfectly frame-able to me.
